Anand draws with Leko

There was no change in Vishwanathan Anand's fortunes as he played out his fourth draw in the City of Linares 2000 Super GMs chess tournament.

Anand, who had an uncharacteristic two-game losing streak in rounds three and four, drew with Peter Leko in the sixth round.

The draw still left him languishing at the bottom of the table, as the two other games also ended in draws in the sixth round. The six-player 10-round tournament, which is considered as an unofficial World championship and is the highest rated tournament in the world, ends on March 10.

Garry Kasparov drew his sixth round game with black pleces against Alexi Shirov of Spain and Vladimir Kramnik was held to a draw by Aalexander Khalifman of Russia.

Khalifman, who is the reigning FIDE World champion, having won the title in Las Vegas last year, has been having fairly good tournament having drawn five of his six games.

Kasparov and Kramnik share the lead with four points each, while Leko has three points.

Shirov and Khalifman have 2.5 points each and Anand is at the bottom with two points, from four draws and two losses.
