India in under-19 World Cup finalIndia crushed Australia by 170 runs to enter the final of the under-19 cricket World Cup in Colombo today. They take on Sir Lanka, who beat Pakistan yesterday in the first semi-final. Batting first, India, propelled by a brilliant opening stand of 124 runs from Ravneet Ricky and Manish Sharma, and a quickfire 58 off only 25 balls - which included five fours and five sixes - from Yuvraj Singh, posted 284 for 6 in their 50 overs. In reply, the Aussies found the going tough from the outset, losing wickets at regular intervals, and were bowled out for just 114 runs in 35.5 overs. Ricky's innings was the highlight of the day. He combined caution with aggression as he tore the Aussie attack to score 108 runs off 143 balls. He was ably assisted by his opening partner Manish Sharma who hit 65 off 94 balls.
