India in last four

India yesterday crushed defending champions England by nine wickets to register their second straight victory in the Super League and romp into the semi-finals of the under-19 cricket World Cup in Colombo.

After restricting England to 182 for nine in 50 overs, openers Ravneet Ricky (68) and Manish Sharma (86 not out) put on an opening stand of 134 runs as India raced to 183 for one in 42.3 overs.

England bowed out of the competition after suffering their second straight defeat.

India play Sri Lanka tomorrow in the needle Super League clash which will decide which team tops Group II. Both teams have four points but the hosts have a better run rate.

In Group I, Pakistan beat Australia by four wickets to score their second straight win and improve their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals. It was Australia's first loss in two matches.

In another match the West Indies beat New Zealand by 57 runs for its first win. New Zealand has lost both its matches thus far.
