Board President's XI - Karnataka in finalBoard President's XI and Karnataka will clash in the final of the Wills Trophy limited-overs cricket tournament. In the semi-finals today, the President's XI beat Bengal in a thriller at Madras, while Karnataka beat Madhya Pradesh by the spin of the coin at Bangalore after the match ended in a tie. The final is on January 17, at Visakhapatnam. Board President's XI, powered by a quickfire 56 from 57 balls by former India skipper Mohammad Azharuddin and some excellent bowling by Gokulakrishnan, who finished with figures of 5 for 55 from 8.5 overs, beat the last year's runners-up by six runs. Bengal made a gallant chase of Board President's total of 263 for 7 off 46 overs as Rohan Gavaskar hit 71 off 102 balls and Saba Karim 50 off 40, but fell short by just six runs as they were bowled out for 257 in 45.5 overs. In Bangalore, chasing 294 for win, Madhya Pradesh were 293 for nine after the completion of 50 overs, which resulted in a deadlock. In the toss, Sujith Somasundar called right to spark off celebrations in the Karnataka camp as Madhya Pradesh captain Rajesh Chauhan returned a crestfallen man. Scoreboards:
