Chudasama has Bombay in a spin

India discards Parhas Mhambrey and Abey Kuruvilla put together a half century stand to pull Bombay out of the woods and score 297 in their first innings on the opening day of the West Zone Ranji Trophy league match against Saurashtra today.

Mhambrey hit an unbeaten 65, studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes, in 102 balls, and put on 63 runs for the eight wicket with Kuruvilla, who made 27 off 46 ball (2 four and 3 sixes), to take the home side to a healthy 269, from 206 for seven wickets, before they were all out in the penultimate over after being put in to bat.

Leg spinner Dharmendra Chudasama did the damage for Saurashtra, bagging five wickets for 67 runs. His prized victims were Amol Mazumdar (51) and Vinod Kambli (12).

Opener Amit Pagnis (45) and A Rane (43) were the other Bombay batsmen to shine.
