Anand describes World Chess triumph "so very special"

Terming his World Championship victory as "so very special" Viswanathan Anand has said he would always play for India.

Anand, who stays for three months in a year in Spain, told PTI: "It is for operational convenience that I stay there. Spain is no moon for me. I will always play for India."

Asked about the plans for his new year celebrations, Anand said the World Championship win "is yet to sink in. I'd like to enjoy it."

Anand, who scored a win over his opponent Alexei Shirov of Spain with three consecutive victories after a draw in the opening game, said defending champion Alexander Khalifman gave him the toughest challenge in the tournament.

Khalifman was level with him in both the games of quarterfinal as also a couple of rapid ones before the Indian, known for his fast-paced game, demolished him in a 15-minute blitz.
