AIFF probables for Millennium Cup
Thirty-six players from the country's leading teams have been selected for a coaching camp to select the Indian team for the Millennium Cup international football tournament, to be held simultaneously at Goa, Kochi and Calcutta, from Janaury 10, 2001.
All India Football Federation newly-elected secretary Alberto Colaco informed newsmen in Goa that players from leading teams, including Mahindra United, Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Zee Churchill,
Salgoacar, JCT, F C Kochi, Dempo, SBT and Indian Bank have been
selected for the camp.
Following are the players:
Goalkeepers: Virender Singh (Mahindra), Sandip Nandi (Mohan
Bagan), Prasanta Dora (East Bengal), Rajat Ghosh (Mohan Bagan), Francis Fernandes (Dempo), Balaji (ITI).
Defenders: K Dhanesh (ITI), Suresh (Sur), Kumar (Mohan Bagan), Mahesh Gawali (Churchill Bros), Dipak Mondal (East Bengal), Ratan Singh (East Bengal), Mustafi Hussain (Mohun Bagan), Firoze (ITI), Falguni Datta (East Bengal).
