Anand and Grischuk win game 2World No. 2 Vishwanathan Anand won the second game of the four-game World chess championship semi-final against Michael Adams of England on Wednesday. The Indian Grandmaster, who was playing with white pieces, started with Ruy Lopez and defeated Adams after 36 moves. The first game between the two ended in a draw on Tuesday. Anand leads the four-game semi-final 1.5-0.5. The duo will again meet for the third game of the semi-final on Thursday. The four-game semi-final is being played between December 12-16. In the other semi-final, Alexander Grischuk of Russia defeated Alexei Shirov of Spain in the second game to keep the battle alive. In the first game on Tuesday, Shriov had defeated Grischuk. Shirov and Grischuk have 1 point each. Grischuk, playing with white pieces, started with Sicilian defence Scheveningen variation, and won the game in 29 moves. The second game of the women's final was drawn. Women's world Champion Xie Jun of China leads the four-game final 1.5-0.5. Today's result:
