Leander jumps 17 spots in world rankingsIndia's Leander Paes jumped 17 spots, on the strength of his first ever career singles title at the Hall of Fame championships, at Newport, Rhode Island, to move to number 103 in the world rankings. His all time highest was 98, and he is expected to reach that, or better, later this year since he now has few ATP points to defend, with half a season to do it in. Meanwhile, Pete Sampras maintained his top position in the latest rankings, released in Paris. With 3,825 points, the Wimbledon champion closed the week with a 159-point lead over his nearest rival Marcelo Rios of Chile (3,666). The top ten rankings, as per the latest list, is as follows: 1. Pete Sampras (USA) 3825; 2. Marcelo Rios (Chile) 3666; 3. Petr Korda (Czech Republic) 3344; 4. Carlos Moya (Spain) 2970; 5. Patrick Rafter (Australia) 2878; 6. Greg Rusedski (Great Britain) 2706; 7.
