Cricket takes a new TurnerRoss Turner of Australia has been given the job of developing cricket worldwide. Turner, 41, was named as the head of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) development programme -- a step up from being New South Wales Cricket Asociation's development manager for the past nine years. He is to develop the game in each of the five regions of the world where it is already played, as well as expanding the profile of the sport in other countries. The Australian Cricket Board's chief executive officer Malcolm Speed welcomed Turner's appointment as a positive move for the game. "The ICC will benefit enormously from the skills he has, and cricket will continue to strengthen its position on the world stage with this appointment," Speed said.
