3 killed in TN communal clashes
Three people were killed and four others injured in a sudden flare-up of violence in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday following
a minor road accident.
The police said one Musthafa, riding a motorcycle, hit a pedestrian, Mahendran on Monday night, leading to a quarrel between the two. Soon group clashes broke out in the city, and shops in the sensitive areas were closed.
Four people were taken into custody in connection with the
incidents.
Meanwhile, four people were injured when a gangster
opened fire after snatching a cash bag from a businessman at the
busy Parrys's Corner in Madras on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police, two gangsters accosted a businessman
as he came out of a shop with a bag containing Rs 150,000.
While one of them snatched the bag and fled from the scene
after opening fire from his country-made revolver, his accomplice
Kumarakurubaran was caught by some shopkeepers and
passersby. A revolver was seized from Kumarakurubaran.
