Gupta takes Congress to task
Union Home Minister Indrajit Gupta yesterday blamed the Congress and some other political parties for creating confusion on the Jain Commission report.
Criticising the Congress, he said the party's stand was not clear. ''It is changing from time to time. The Congress should make up its mind about what it wants.... I am not at all interested in what the Congress says and I am least worried about it. I stick to my earlier version on the tabling of the report in Parliament.''
He reiterated that there was no threat to the United
Front government on account of the Jain Commission report.
Gupta clarified that the govenrment
had no intention to shield or protect anybody. He said almost
all the evidence sought by the government was provided by
the Commission yesterday.
Asked about the fate of the Dravida Munnetra Kazagham, which has reportedly been indicted by the Commission, he said
there was no question of the party parting ways with the UF.
