In a boost to women entrepreneurship in the country, three Indian businesswomen are among the 15 women entrepreneurs who have been awarded the third La Caixa International Women Entrepreneurial Challenge Awards (IWEC) this year.
The three Indian women entrepreneurs are Dipali Goenka, Director of Welspun Retail, Vasundhara Mantri, professional Jewellery Designer and Anita Lal Creative Head, The Goodearth Company.
Presenting the awards, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ashwani Kumar said, "We do want at all occasions, at all forums and at all times to salute our outstanding women. I'm delighted that the third award ceremony is taking place at New Delhi, after Barcelona and New York... and is honouring 15 women entrepreneurs."
The La Caixa IWEC is a joint initiative by Barcelona Chamber of Commerce together with the Chamber of Commerce of Manhattan (New York) and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
