Taking strong exception to the provocative statements issued by Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament H T Sangliana and state convenor of New Life Samuel, the Karnataka government has decided to place the duo under the radar of the Intelligence Bureau.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa who announced this following a Cabinet meeting said that IB sleuths had been directed to keep a tab on the activities of both Samuel and Sangliana, who incidentally was the former police commissioner of Bengaluru [Images].

The CM said they had taken a serious view of the statements given by both these persons in which they had said that there was a threat to the lives of the Christians from the chief minister.

They should come out and explain as to what made them feel that way. Their activities and actions will be kept under a close watch from now onwards, the CM also said.

Apart from this, the police will also investigate reports which suggest there has been foreign funding for conversion activities in the state and those giving provocative statements and inciting communal violence will be dealt with an iron hand.
