"There is little of Indian in every Pakistani and a little of Pakistani in every Indian," said Pakistan President Asif Zardari recently as he recalled his late wife Benazir Bhutto's [Images] lines describing Indo-Pak relations.

Addressing the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit via satellite last week, Zardari declared that his country will not be the first to use nuclear weapons against India and that his country will work towards opening trade with its neighbour.

Zardari stressed on the need to make borders accessible and favoured issuance of 'e-cards', which could be swiped at the border, to enter each other's territory.

He also said that Pakistan did not feel threatened by India and New Delhi [Images] should also not feel threatened by Islamabad [Images]. The Pakistan President's remarks assume significance following reports in the past highlighting the perception among Pakistan's military establishment about India.
