A Jharkhand court on Monday issued summons against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray [Images] on a complaint by a local ABVP leader who accused him of indulging in anti-national activities.

Chief Judicial Magistrate V K Mishra issued the summons after taking cognisance of the complaint filed by Akhil Singh, president of Garwah Nagar Mandal of the Akhil Bharatia Vidyarthi Parishad, on October 23.

The court has not yet set any date for Raj Thackeray's appearance.

In his complaint, Singh charged the MNS chief with promoting enmity between classes and maliciously insulting religion and religious beliefs.

Raj is already facing arrest warrants in one of the six cases that have been lodged against him in Jharkhand.

The Jharkhand High Court will hear his petition for transfer of cases to Mumbai on November 14.
