Putting up a brave face following its poor performance in the Karanataka assembly elections, the Janata Dal Secular on Sunday said that the results did not mean the political end of the party.

"There is no political ending. In politics there is no ending. Every time it will start from the beginning. In politics ... any person can win the hearts of people in the elections," JD-S leader H D Kumaraswamy told reporters as the news of his party's defeat in the polls poured in.

"We will fight it (loss of seats) and we salute the people (for their verdict). Whenever people are in problem we will help them... and try to cooperate with Karnataka," the former chief minister said.

Kumaraswamy blamed the media for creating a campaign against his party, saying it was against them from the beginning.
