Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images] on Wednesday visited the places from where live bombs were found in Surat [Images] and reviewed the situation.

Modi announces a reward of Rs 51 lakh for information leading to terrorists involved in the serial blasts in Ahmedabad [Images] and planting of bombs in Surat.

Eighteen live bombs were found on Tuesday from Varacha area, which houses maximum number of diamond units. All of them were defused.

Modi is accompanied by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Narottam Patel and Gujarat Police Chief P C Pande.

The chief minister after visiting the sites held a meeting with top police officials of the city.

Schools, colleges, shopping malls, parks and public places in Surat have been asked to remain close today by Police Commissioner R M S Brar as a precautionary measure.

The recovery of the bombs had created panic among the people of Surat.
