The United States has said there was no evidence suggesting involvement of foreign agents in the suicide bombing on the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan that left 41 people, including four Indians, dead.

"I haven't seen any evidence or proof that foreign agents were involved," Defence Secretary Robert Gates said during a media briefing at the Pentagon.

Gates was asked whether foreign agents were involve in the attack on the Indian Embassy.

The Bush administration has not publicly said much about the terror attack on the Indian Mission in Kabul other than making the point that Washington has been in touch with the governments in Kabul and New Delhi and has offered assistance to the two governments for tracking down the perpetrators of the bombing.
