The Karnataka police have launched a massive manhunt for suspected fidayeen in the state following a revelation made by Raziuddin Nasir, the man arrested for his alleged terror links and also for his role in the Lumbini blast case in Hyderabad.

According to Nasir, the fidayeen had sneaked into the country and were moving around in various parts of the country.

The cops in turn have informed their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh, Hyderabad and Kerala [Images] about the fidayeen. Nasir had told them that these men could be in these places.

The police say that all efforts are being made to track these people down and they are trying to extract more information out of Nasir who continues to be interrogated.

According to the police, these men were trained by the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and had gained access into the country a couple of months ago.

They also said that Nasir had met with them and had planned on forthcoming missions. Nasir, during the interrogation, said these men had trained in Pakistan and could carry out a strike at any time.

Nasir further revealed that he had been in touch with persons in Kerala and had imparted training to several persons over there.

He said he had set up base over there and also added there were several men in Kerala who were planning to strike there.

Nasir also said during the interrogation that he intended blowing up the Commissioner's Office, Chief Minister's residence, Raj Bhavan and a hotel in Bangalore. He said he had planned to use petrol tankers to do the same.
