Just when the Karnataka police managed to crack down on two suspected terrorists, another headache has befallen them with an accomplice of the arrested duo managing to give the police the slip.
The Karnataka police have now launched a massive man hunt for Adnan, a student from Bijapur, who is believed to an accomplice of the arrested duo.
According to the police, Adnan may have escaped immediately after he heard about the arrest of both Nasir and Asadulla.
The worrying factor is that Adnan is possession of several AK-47 guns. The police say that Adnan may have been tipped of about the arrest and was instructed to flee from the state. He was aware where the consignment of weapons was kept and was immediately directed to take out the weapons from there.
The police feel that he may have destroyed the weapons before giving the cops the slip.
The police say that Adnan was an active SIMI member and had proclaimed himself to be the convener of the banned outfit in Karnataka. They also believe that Adnan was closely associated with both Nasir and Asadulla and was aware of the activities being carried out by them.
The police are now questioning Nasir about Adnan's whereabouts. They say that Nasir is well aware about where Adnan may have fled to. However, the police also add that Nasir is revealing information easily. They say that terrorists when arrested always reveal the plans they had made but it is very rare that they give out information regarding others.
The investigating agencies say that Nasir repeatedly mentions the work jihad during the investigation and even when he is left alone he talks about avenging the arrest of his father who was picked up in connection with the Haren Pandya murder case in Gujarat.
The police are now banking on the information they would be able to elicit during the narco analysis test which will be conducted both on Asadulla and Nasir.
