Union Minister A R Antulay [Images], who is in the eye of a storm over his controversial remarks about the killing of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Hemant Karkare [Images], on Tuesday refused to offer an apology.
Talking to media persons in New Delhi [Images], Antulay denied having ever raised doubts on who killed Karkare.
The Union minister added that he will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images] and Congress President Sonia Gandhi [Images] in this regard.
Antulay asked leader of opposition L K Advani [Images] to prove that he was more patriotic than him. "Who is he to question my loyalty to the country," he retorted.
"This is a statement prepared by the home ministry. I had asked investigating agencies how and on whose information Karkare was told to head to Cama Hospital [Images] on November 26. There is no need for any further clarification," he said.
Antulay's remarks came shortly after Home Minister P Chidambaram, addressing the Lok Sabha, rejected his fellow Cabinet member's conspiracy theory and termed it as 'wrong and deeply regrettable'.
