Interpol chief Ronald K Noble -- on a two-day visit to India -- discussed the Mumbai terror attacks with Home Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday before flying to Islamabad [Images] where he is expected to pressurise the authorities to act against the terrorist groups in Pakistan.

He has sought to send a clear message that the incident is not just a matter of concern for India but a global challenge that needed to be tackled by his International Criminal Police Organisation -- the world's largest international police organisation comprising 186 nations as its members better known by its telegraphic address Interpol.

Since Pakistan is also a member of Interpol, Noble assured Chidambaram that its security agency will have to respond to any notice the Interpol issues on the 26/11 attack.

Sources said Noble indicated to issue 'Black Corner Notices' for the terrorists killed in the Mumbai attacks to help the Indian authorities get formal assistance from Pakistan and any other Interpol member countries.

He also offered to assist in comparing the details of the terrorists killed and one captured against Interpol's global database.

Sources said Noble is expected to put pressure on Pakistan during his Islamabad trip later in the day to take stern action against the terrorists and their outfits flourishing in the 'safe heavens' of Pakistan.

On Friday, Noble dropped at the Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters to speak to its chief Ashwani Kumar as also to inspect Interpol's national central bureau located there.
