Militants infiltrate into Indian territory near Jammu
"Four BSF jawans were injured in firing by Pakistan forces along LoC in Sabzian area of Poonch district, where its post came under firing from across the border today morning," said top BSF officials.
The injured were hospitalised and their condition is stated to be out of danger, they said, adding that BSF troops guarding the LoC maintained restraint and did not retaliate the fire.
Firing at LoC, Indian soldier killed
Since January this year, Pakistani troops have violated the five-year old ceasefire agreement 31 times, provoking the Indian troops, though the latter did not retaliate on most occasions.
This month itself, Pakistani troops shelled Jhangar area of Nousehra border belt in Rajouri district on August 21. Before that, Pakistani Rangers shelled Sabzian area in Poonch on August 11.
BSF thwarts major infiltration bid on LoC
Pakistani breaches of the ceasefire have been reported from Rajouri, Samba, Uri, Tanghdhar and Poonch sector this year, from where a large number of militants have been trying to infiltrate into India.
Infiltration bids by militants have witnessed an increase recently in view of the Jammu and Kashmir state assembly elections scheduled for October this year.
