The Pakistan government on Monday deferred by 21 days the execution of Indian national Sarabjit Singh, who was to be hanged on April 1 following his conviction for alleged involvement in bomb attacks in 1990, Dawn News reported.

President Pervez Musharraf [Images] had on March 19 deferred the execution of Sarabjit by 30 days after the Indian government made a formal appeal for clemency.
The new lifeline for Sarabjit comes even as kin of victims of the bomb attacks took to the streets demanding that no leniency be shown to Sarabjit.
