The Bharatiya Janata Party-Janata Dal (S) combine's chief ministerial nominee, B S Yediyurappa, on Tuesday met JDS leader H D Deve Gowda.

The two leaders discussed the current political situation, sources close to Yeddyurappa said.
Yediyurappa thanked Gowda for his party's support to the BJP for forming a new coalition government and sought his cooperation, the sources said.

The "delay" by Governor Rameshwar Thakur in inviting the combine to form the government and the Congress demanding dissolution of the state assembly also figured during the discussions, the sources said.

Following a U-turn by the JDS, which offered unconditional support to the BJP-led ministry, Yediyurappa staked claim to form a government on October 27.
