Former Union Cabinet minister Madan Lal Khurana on Friday filed a complaint in a Delhi court seeking registration of a case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his controversial remarks on the Ram Setu issue.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate A K Kuhar posted for hearing on Saturday the arguments on the complaint of the former Delhi chief minister seeking to initiate criminal proceedings against Karunanidhi for allegedly making statements on Lord Ram.

"The sentiments of millions of Hindus have been hurt due to the deliberate utterances of the Chief Minister. His statement had an ulterior motive with a view to gaining political mileage and appease minorities," Khurana alleged.

He claimed that he had attempted to lodge a complaint with the police but it was not entertained.

With the negative reply from the police officials, he decided to approach the court, he said.
