Confusion loomed in Karnataka over the fate of the formation of the government even as Governor Rameshwar Thakur submitted a final report to Home Minister Shivraj Patil in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The mood was upbeat in the Bharatiya Janata Party camp after they paraded their MLAs before the President.

There were reports that the governor had recommended that both the Janata Dal-Secular and the BJP be invited to form the government in Karnataka.

However there was confusion as no confirmation was given by both the home ministry as well as the Raj Bhavan in Bangalore on the contents of the report.

A section maintained that the governor has only mentioned the factual position in Karnataka and also about the turn of events after the House had been placed under suspended animation.

The report also includes all the letters written to him by various political parties. The report also mentions various political leaders meeting him over the past few days. The dharna by the BJP and legal opinions also form part of the report.

While the JD-S camp is tight lipped about the developments, the BJP says it is hopeful that they would be invited to form the government. Members of the BJP camp in both Bangalore and Delhi were unable to confirm the exact contents of the governor's report.

The Congress in Karnataka maintains that Thakur's report deals with only the factual position. They feel that the JD-S and BJP will not be invited to form the government as there is too much confusion. The Congress is still hopeful that the House will be dissolved in Karnataka.

Meanwhile there seems to be some confusion brewing the JD-S camp, with Deve Gowda's other son, H D Revanna refusing to take part in the parade before the President. Revanna apparently is obeying his father's directive, who was against the JD-S MLAs parading before the President.
