The Election Commission has issued show-cause notices to Minister of State for Railways Naranbhai Rathwa, Congress general secretary B K Hari Prasada and BJP leader Purshotam Rupalia for violating its model code in force in Gujarat.
Congressman Rathwa is alleged to have used a beacon-fitted RPF escort vehicle for moving from Vadodara airport
Circuit House during a visit on October 20 while Hari Prasada and Rupalia were found to have used "objectionable language" in public.
In the show-cause sent to Rathwa on October 5, he was asked to explain his position and why action should not be
initiated against him, EC sources said .
They said Congress MP Hari Prasada addressed a public meeting at Nanapondha village in Valsad district on October 18 in which he allegedly used foul language.
The Commission issued notice to him on October 24 and his reply was found "unsatisafatory".
Rupalia was censured for a similar misdemeanour during a public meeting addressed by him on October 21, show cause sent on October 24 and his submission rejected, the sources said.
