Lauding the security forces for their commendable role in controlling terrorism and restoring peace in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday asked them to respect the 'sensibilities' of people while conducting operations.
"There is need for respecting the sensibilities of people while conducting security operations," Azad said, while chairing a meeting of Unified Command comprising army, security forces, police and Central and state intelligence agencies in Srinagar.
Azad also referred to the halting of the civilian traffic on the road when army convoys are moving and said due care should be taken to avoid public inconvenience.
The chief minister also called for countering the disinformation campaign against the state and security forces by 'anti-national elements.'
Azad noted with satisfaction the improvement brought in the human rights record and said there is scope for bettering it, official sources said.
