Mustaffa Dossa, a prime accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, is going to form a political outfit along with some other convicts and former accused in the case.

"It was decided in a meeting inside Aurthur Road jail (where the blast convicts are lodged) on Monday that the outfit would be called Dalit and Muslim United Front," said Shahid Azmi, Dossa's lawyer.

"The party's aim will be to consolidate the victims of political oppression and bring them on a political forum," Azmi told PTI.

The party would start with the elections to the local bodies, Azmi said.

A TADA court hearing the 1993 blasts case has already convicted 100 out of the 123 accused, and will be awarding them sentences from May 18 onwards.

Most of the accused -- convicted as well as acquitted -- support the outfit, Azmi claimed.

Dossa, who was extradited from Dubai, is yet to be put on trial though.
