Taking forward the composite dialogue process, India and Pakistan will hold Secretary-level talks on a range of issues, including terrorism, drug trafficking, trade and water resources, in June and July.

A two-day meeting will be held from July 3 to discuss terrorism and drug trafficking during which Home Secretaries of the two countries are expected to discuss progress on the joint terror mechanism and measures to tackle the problem of drug trafficking, a scourge affecting both India and Pakistan.

Under the agreed schedule, Water Secretaries of the two sides will meet on June 26-27 to iron out differences on the Tulbul Navigation Project.

Commerce Secretaries will meet on July 31-August1 to discuss ways for enhanced bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Ahead of this, Culture Secretaries of the two countries meet in Islamabad on June 28-29 to discuss promotion of friendly exchanges in various fields.

Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon had met his Pakistani counterpart Riaz Mohd Khan in Islamabad in March this year to initiate the fourth round of the Composite Dialogue.

The two had discussed peace and security, including confidence building measures and Jammu and Kashmir. Talks on Sir Creek are scheduled to be held in Islamabad on May 17-18.
