In an effort to make the party and the government work in tandem in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday formed a 6-member coordination committee in Uttarakhand to be headed by Party President B S Koshiyari. "To fulfil the aspirations of the people, the party and the government must work in tandem. For this purpose, the BJP has formed a coordination committee," BJP President Rajnath Singh told reporters here after announcing committee's formation.
He said the other members of the committee will be decided later by Koshiyari in consultation with Chief Minister B C Khanduri.
This type of arrangement is there in all the BJP-ruled states, Singh said.
Describing Khanduri as "able and efficient' administrator, Singh said under his leadership the government would be able to live up to the expectations of the people.
On the expansion of the government, Singh said the BJP's first task will be to prove its majority in the House on March 20 and the expansion of the cabinet would be held thereafter.
Singh said Koshiyari would also review the elections results and find out as to why BJP was not able to win one more seat so as to get clear majority.
Khanduri was on Thursday sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
