Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal on Monday condemned the dastardly killing of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha member of Parliament Sunil Mahato, saying no words could be strong enough to condemn the heinous crime.
Jaiswal, accompanied by Union Minister of State for Food Processing Subodh Kant Sahay, visited the Tata Main Hospital where the mortal remains of Mahato were kept.
"The incident is condemnable in the strongest possible terms," Jaiswal, who flew from New Delhi, told the waiting newsmen in Delhi.
Asked whether there was any possibility of President's rule in the wake of the crime which shocked the state, Jaiswal said there was no such decision as yet.
Mahato, the general secretary of JMM, two of his bodyguards and a party colleague were shot dead by Naxals at Bakuria town, where the MP was invited as chief guest for a football match on Sunday.
The incident has drawn strong condemnation from President A P J Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil.
