Brother of Hafeez Saeed, founder chief of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tayiba, has been asked to leave the US, where he is a cleric at a mosque in Massachusetts, a report said.

Muhammad Masood, a controversial cleric at Sharon Mosque, which is the headquarter of the Islamic Centre of New England, Massachusetts, has been issued notice by the US authorities to 'leave soon', according to the Daily Times. It quoted Attorney George Garfinkle as telling local newspaper Patriot Ledger.

Garfinkle also confirmed that some former members of the board of the Islamic Centre have been called before a federal grand jury in Boston over the past months in connection with the investigation of Masood's alleged visa violations.

Masood's brother Saeed currently heads Pakistan's Jamaat-ud-Dawa, which has been accused of being involved in terror activities in many countries, including India.

Masood, his son Hassan, and a Chelmsford cleric were picked up by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agents on November 15 as part of a multi-state sweep on 33 immigrants, mainly Pakistanis.

Most of them were charged with having fraudulent obtained religious-worker visas.
