Haryana police, which picked up a Pakistani national from Bulandshahar doubting his involvement in February 18 Samjhauta Express blasts, released him after an interrogation on Saturday.

Zahid, on a visit to his stepmother, was to go back to Lahore by Samjhauta Express on the fateful day alongwith his younger brother Younis and mother Mukaddasnisa.

He, however, changed his programme following a quarrel with Younis at the Delhi railway station and returned to Sikandrabad the same evening.

The next morning, he went for cancellation of his ticket where authorities detained him till doubting his involvement in the blast. He was released in the afternoon on Saturday.

Zahid told reporters after his release that he was not subject to any physical torture at Panipat (Haryana) by the police.
