Fifty passengers were issued tickets to travel till Attari in Punjab on the Samjhauta Express. They did not require any documents, a Railways official, who was suspended in the wake of the terror strike, said on Tuesday.
Of the 390 tickets issued in the general class by the booking clerks, only 340 were for Lahore, he said.
The official claimed that the passengers, who wish to travel till Attari, do not have to show any documents for travelling and all they need to do is to purchase a ticket like for any other train.
"All we are required to do is to write the passport number and the ticket number of the Lahore-bound passengers and for passengers till Attari, not even a passport is required," another suspended official said.
Three railway officials, including a supervisor, have been suspended on charges of laxity in their duty while issuing tickets.
"We have sent the details of our ticket issuing procedure to the general manager," one official added.
