The Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed its anger over the manner in which the Congress party is trying to bring Nagaland under President's rule through the backdoor and thereby, have an better playing field in the forthcoming state assembly elections in Feburary 2008.

"In the 60-member House, Congress has 11 seats, but on the day when Congress moved its no-confidence motion it was defeated by 30-19 votes," Rajiv Pratap Rudy told newsmen at the daily briefing by the party at its New Delhi headquarters.

According to him "an abortive attempt has been made recently to dislodge the coalition government headed by Neiphiu Rio who is leading the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland government."

"Even after burning their fingers in Bihar and Jharkhand and the resultant harsh indictment by the highest court, it seems that the Congress stands undeterred in indulging in the usual government toppling game," he said.

According to Rudy, who is in charge of the party in Nagaland, the people of Nagaland will give a fitting reply to the Congress party in the forthcoming assembly elections by defeating them at the hustings.

He asked the Congress government to be more vigilant about the Chinese intrusion in Arunachal Pradesh than worry about toppling the DAN government in Nagaland.
