Noted Telugu author Allam Rajaiah was a shattered man on Friday night after he learnt about the death of his son Kiran Kumar, one of the two Indian students killed in the Lousiana State University campus apartment.
Rajaiah said his first reaction after getting the news from his relative in California was of disbelief as he had spoken to his son, who was pursuing a PhD in the American university, only hours before that.
"I could not believe it. How can I? After all, my son had spoken to me only a few hours before," said Rajaiah, struggling to hold back tears.
He said Kiran had been studying in the US for the last five years and was a friendly and helpful person who could not have any enemies.
Rajaiah said, during the telephonic talk, he had advised his son to take rest as it must have been a very busy time for him in the university.
Relatives of Kiran Kumar left for the US tonight to bring back his body
Rajaiah said his son's wife lived with him.
He described his son as a friendly man with no enemies.
"He is a friendly man. He won't have any enemies," Rajaiah said, adding that it could be a case of burglary.
