"I have led coalition governments with the BJP's support in UP in the past but by track record shows I never allowed it to enforce its communal agenda when I was in power," she said addressing an election rally in Aligarh.

She asked the community to dispel "misconceptions" that have gained precedence in the past few months and her party was also prepared to suppport the UPA government if it brought an amendment in Parliament to grant reservations to Muslims.

Mayawati's comments come a day after SP leader Mohammad Azam Khan accused her of calling Muslims "traitors" even after they had shown her respect and referred to her as 'behenji'.

The BSP leader also claimed Samajwadi Party supreme Mulayam Singh Yadav and general secretary had "secret plans" to flee the country after their fall in the assembly elections, an accusation she repeated at a rally in Mathura.

"Whenever there is a BSP government installed in UP, Yadav and Singh leave the state. I have been told they are now planning to leave the country since they have deposited plenty of money in foreign banks," she told the rally.

She asked the people to vote for her party as the Yadav ruled with the "blessings" of the Congress, BJP and RLD who did not try for imposition of President's rule in the state despite the Supreme Court's ruling on the BSP rebel MLAs.
