Nepal Chetna Yatra flagged off

Chandershekhar,former prime minister of India, flagged of Nepal Chetna Yatra being led by the spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party Devi Prasad Tripathi from his ashram in Bhodsi in Haryana on Thursday morning.

Speaking to rediff.com Tripathi said that 2000 km long journey would be completed in seven days by car and the Chetna flag would be handed over to the Nepal's Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on July 27 at a public meeting in Kathmandu.

"Amongst those who blessed the yatra included the speaker of Lok Sabha Somnath Chatterjee [Images], NCP president Sharad Pawar [Images], Janata Dal United President Sharad Yadav and several other leaders from almost all the political parties including the congress and the Bhartiya Janata Party," he said.

En route to Kathmandu the car rally would stop at several places in Uttar Pradesh [Images], Bihar and West Bengal before entering into Nepal. A drama unit would hold nookad plays about the struggle of the people of Nepal for democracy.
