An eleven-year-old schoolboy in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district has turned out to be the source of an e-mail sent to a news channel, claiming responsibility for Mumbai blasts on 'Lashkar-e-Ulhak's' behalf.

The involvement comes in the wake of the arrest of an errant youth, Sumit Tamrakar, for sending a similar e-mail to a local Hindi daily, taking responsibility for Mumbai blasts and threatening bombings in Bhopal.

"Police are investigating the angle that whether there was some other hand behind these incidents," S K Raut, additional director general of police (Intelligence) told UNI.

In his e-mail, Vibhor Kamalkar had held 'Lashkar-e-Ulhak' responsible for the Mumbai blasts; at the end of the e-mail, he had repeated the word 'yes' about 10 times.

Although police and intelligence agencies interrogated the child and his parent in this regard, no case was registered.

Meanwhile, Students Islamic Movement of India's Imran Ansari was arrested in the state capital and was being interrogated.

Police had interrogated at least a dozen persons in connection with the e-mail incident, since Sumit had described himself as SIMI chief in the e-mail.

A similar e-mail was also sent to a news channel allegedly from Indore. Police and intelligence agencies are investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, cyber-cafe owners have been asked to maintain complete records, including addresses of customers, while STD operators had been directed to maintain a record of customers calling foreign countries.
