On the second day of his three-day visit to the Andaman and Nicobar where 5,000 people perished in the killer waves last year, Dr Singh will visit the Car Nicobar Island, one of the worst-hit areas by tsunami, to pay his tributes at the Tsunami [Images] Memorial and lay the foundation stone for a stadium.
He will also interact with the tribal leaders and lay the foundation stone for a hostel in Campbell Bay Island.
Later in the day, the prime minister will place a wreath at the Indian Air Force air-base, which was ravaged by the giant waves that killed scores of Air Force personnel.
