The body of A V Bisaria, a National Defence Academy cadet, who had been washed away in flood waters on Monday, was recovered on Thursday.
Bisaria and Cadet Avinav Verma, who were on a map-reading exercise with two other cadets, were swept away while crossing a culvert on a causeway at Donaje village. The two others.
Bisaria's body was found after three days of intensive search at Peacock Bay of Khadakvasla dam, where cadets are given naval training by the NDA, officials said. The body, which was in a highly decomposed condition, was later identified to be that of Bisaria.
It has been shifted to military hospital and would be later handed over to his relatives, they said.
Officials said that the search for Verma is still on.
Bisaria, who is from Etah in Uttar Pradesh, and Verma, who hails from Allahabad, were sixth-term cadets at the NDA and would have passed out in November this year.
Avinav's parents Jagat Bhaskar Verma and Malati Verma had rushed here on hearing the news. They also visited the spot from where the two cadets went missing on Monday.
