India on Monday said it had no plans to evacuate Indian officials or nationals in Nepal, saying that the situation there did not warrant any such planning.

"There are no plans whatsoever for evacuation of Indian officials or nationals from Nepal," an External Affairs Ministry statement in New Delhi said after a high-level meeting chaired by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee to review current developments, including the situation in Nepal.
Media reports that the government was planning such a move in the wake of the political crisis in the Himalayan Kingdom facing massive protests against the monarchy, sent it into a denial mode.
The Civil Aviation Ministry described the reports as incorrect and baseless. "There are no plans for any evacuation in Nepal and Indian Airlines has not been put on alert."
