Nepal king meets former prime ministers

King Gyanendra Monday held talks with former prime ministers of Nepal.

King Gyanendra met former prime ministers Krishna Prasad Bhattarai and Surya Bahadur Thapa separately at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace.

The founder president of Nepali Congress Bhattarai said he discussed the country's overall political situation with the king and said the situation will change soon.

"The present situation will change and democracy will be restored. It should be restored," Bhattarai told reporters after he came out of the palace.

Similarly, former prime minister and president of Rastriya Janashakti Party Surya Bahadur Thapa said he has suggested to the king to hold talks with the constitutional forces .

"I have told the king to initiate dialogue with the parties," Thapa told reporters adding, the situation will be changed soon.

The king had granted separate audiences to the ambassadors of India, China and the US Sunday.
