Things took a bad turn on the third day of Lal Kishenchand Advani's rath yatra when the Bharatiya Janata Party leader's sound system failed him.

When Advani reached Surat, the final destination for the third day of his yatra, more than 60,000 staunch BJP supporters were waiting for him and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images].

When Modi addressed the meeting, the sound was audible. However, when Advani began to speak he coudn't be heard by the 60,000-strong crowd as the sound system proved faulty.

Most of the crowd was from Saurashtra. As they couldn't hear Advani, they booed him.

They then broke the barricades and rushed forward in order to hear his speech.
