As part of efforts to fight the growing menace of cyber crime, the United States State Department conducted a training programme for officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation and from 14 states to tackle cyber terrorism and cyber crimes.

On Friday, 14 law enforcement officers completed the two-week training programme on cyber terrorism sponsored by the US State Department, a US Embassy statement said.

Titled 'Investigating Cyber Terrorism Course', the programme was conducted under the Anti-Terrrorism Assitance Programme of the US government and was held at the Ghaziabad academy of the CBI, beginning March 27.

Officials from several states recived training in technical and practical aspects of dealing with cyber crime and cyber terrorism in the programme.

The course entailed hands-on forensic analysis and scene documentation by the officers, who were also detailed about the process of evidence collection in cyber crimes.

The US State Department has conducted 42 ATA programmes for Indian law enforcement officials since 1995 to provide additional insights into thwarting cyber terrorism.
