Pakistan's coast guard has arrested 24 Indian fishermen and seized their four boats in the Arabian Sea, an official said on Monday.

The arrests were made on Saturday night 140 kilometres southeast of Karachi as scores of Indian boats entered Pakistani waters at the start of the fishing season, said Lieutenant Commander Attiqur Rahman, a spokesman for Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency.

"More than 200 Indian boats had entered our territory. We gave warnings to them but these four boats did not heed the warnings and we seized them," Rahman said.
