Lok Janshakti Party leader and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan Tuesday said the Congress' love for the Lalu-Rabri leadership had cost the United Progressive Alliance very dearly in Bihar.
Reacting to the emerging results of Bihar polls, Paswan said the UPA could still have made it if the Congress was to project a Muslim as chief ministerial candidate at a time when the writing on the wall was very clear.
But their persistance with the Lalu-Rabri combine had harmed the coalition and the people had decisively voted against the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
He said the LJP's aim was to defeat the RJD and throw out the Bharatiya Janata Party and that they have succeeded in both.
"The vote gains of the Janata Dal-United can be reversed in the next election," he claimed.
